Are you over 18? (You must be 18+ to apply.)
    Yes

What are some games you plan on playing with us?
Neverwinter for now. Also have SWTOR account

What is the character or account name you’re joining that game with?
    Bobbi Sweetwater

Do you have friends or family in the Unrepentant community? If so what is their forum name?
    Not that I know of

So... let's talk! What follows are a bunch of questions that give us a sense of your personality, and give us something to talk about. If your answers are boring or short, we’ll assume you’re boring (and probably short).

Tell us the story of one of the dumbest, funniest or most embarrassing things you've done as an adult.
Well in the past 10 years I have fallen through two different two-story decks, I slept through a bus stop and ended up 500 miles from my destination.

I think one of my most embarrassing moments was when I was younger and getting caught in a very naked and compromising way by my date's grandmother. Talk about the Grandma phone chain and the whoopin' I got for after that. Got made to walk home 4 blocks in my birthday suit while my date's grandma drove to my house to hand my clothing to my grandmother.

What's the coolest job you've ever had? What's the worst? (And why?)
I have been in a kitchen of some kind since I was 12 years old. I've been a chef since I was 17 and I have to say being a Chef during the late 80's into the late 90's was amazing. Even after the turn of the century food has just grown up, out, and in. I spent almost a decade in R&D for Planet Hollywood pre-bankruptcy. That allowed me to see the world which was such an educational, insane time. That got me into private chef work which in turn got me into my current gig of consulting.

I can also say it brought me some of my worst jobs as well. I have been a porter for a busy nightclub cleaning up after nasty drunk people. I have been a well paid oyster shucker but who wants to date a guy who smells like that? Oh, there was the job of cleaning the cutting room at a slaughterhouse.. that was gross.

Name three video games you'll replay no matter how old they get. (And why?)
Before you go shouting REJECT!!! Hear me out...

I am a 14 veteran of Eve Online looking to get away from the toxic community which is around now. The game is a passion but the direction of the community is just well... left a bitter taste for now.

As for what I play I tend to float to the Half-Life series, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Banished as my "bored and nothing better to play" games. They always bring a bit of calm fun for me.

Tell us about the most annoying person you've ever met, and why he/she annoyed you.
I had this trainee a few years back who looked amazing on paper. Her portfolio looked great and her resume was so close to being too impressive for a trial run.
At the time I was the Sous Chef so I was observing but also hustling to do my other work. Weeks went by and I started cranking up for her 45-day review to see if we would pick her up on a full contract. Well as I watched I noticed she never did work. She flirted and talked the other guys to do it all for her while taking credit. I was wondering why my normally cheerful and playful staff was suddenly drifting down a sullen steady.

Anyway, you can see where this was going. When review happened I called her out on it, she called me a liar, spit in my face and walked out. I ended up with a bottle of Knob Creek the next day from the STaff

Tell us something cool about yourself that has nothing to do with gaming. (Free hint: responding to your application thread with photo or video supporting evidence is a plus!)
I also do part-time work as a Gentleman's club DJ and MC. I spent quite a few years doing MMO-centric internet radio for Split Infinity Radio starting in MXO.

Why choose the Unrepentant Gaming Community over just a regular gaming guild?
Well, it's not a one-trick pony, right? So a gaming community makes it easier to focus on the community part first and allow the games to take their proper place.
I'm from Eve where sure there is the community but it's pretty much a job with work friends type of feel. That was fun for a long while but now, I want a social club I guess where I can pick-up a game from a list instead of focusing down on elite bro status.

BONUS: Ask us some questions! We're sure you've got some.
What is your opinion on Tabouli?

Where you ever invited to the Club Sandwich club and if so, Can I get an invite, please? I like the 3rd slice of bread too!

How easy is it to pick-up a group in the guild?

    Almost done!

You enter a cave before starting an adventure. A wise old man tells you "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this." What does he hand you and why?

Saw Bobbi in Uey Chat earlier today while lurking on on of my gwf alts.. ( shush you people over there!!)

Comported himself well, and promply filled out the application when asked to do so.

Nice application so far. A lot of meat (pun intended).

    Answering your questions:

Where or what is a Tabouli? sounds like something I need to whack with the gwf sword until it stops moving...

No dammit have not been invited to the Club Sandwich club. Now that I know this is a thing, I must have such an invite too..

How easy is it to get a pickup group in guild? I would extend the question by saying it is fairly easy to get core group of Ueys and use some peoples from the alliance we are in as well.

The hotness right now is are the hunts in the new mod Ravenloft. They come with a basic difficulty, but can be amped up to IMPOSSIBLE!! by adding extra Tarokoaa cards (think Tarot cards). Some of those cards can make the enemies hit you like they are an epic dungeon build monster, have extra health up to dbl, and increased the aggro to such that every step you take you pull every g-d mob in the zone (it seems).

I must offer kudo's to Bobbi. When told of the requirement to fill out an app, he trundled right off and filled out the app. And did a most excellent job on the app as well.

Try recruiting for the high-end player crop in eve online. They want pretty much a federal background check on you, a small game mechanics and theory test plus prompt enrollment to Alliance services. This was an actual pleasure to fill out.

As for Tabouli: Tabbouleh is a Levantine vegetarian salad made of mostly finely chopped parsley with tomatoes, mint, onion, bulgur, and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Some variations add garlic or lettuce or use couscous instead of bulgur.

SoulBlythe has been in Neverwinter and seems to be fitting in well, so far.

    Hi SoulBlythe,

Welcome to the application process. Quick intro: you need 4 yes votes for acceptance, 3 no votes for rejection. The official votes will come from members with yellow names, or possibly from members with green or purple names. However, members with Red names will often swing by and leave comments, ask question, or even cast unofficial votes, that will influence us voting members. Because not everyone in the community plays Neverwinter, it's important to stay active here during the application process, even if you've been active in game. Once accepted, we impose absolutely zero activity requirements on our members. Also, once accepted the only interruption to a lifetime membership in The U is aggravated douchebaggery.

So it sounds like you've done some travelling for work, what are some of the most interesting place you've visited? Have you gone to any places where, upon return, you just said to yourself "that place was bullshit" ?

Well, most of my travel for work was working on franchise openings, staff training, and interim work so it was 10-14hr work days for the most part. I did have the privilege to open stores in Singapore, Dubai, Melbourne, Hong Kong, London, Istanbul, Key West, and a few more North American cities.

Well it was more like "Well that was bullshit, London was way more fun then I was told!". Dubai was fun but man it was crazy. So many rules outside of the American district, it was brain busting. Glad that was only a two-month cover tour while they trained the new chef for the location back at corporate.

    Quick little story...

We got a call from the GM in Istanbul that the chef walked-out with a few of his staff and they needed us to come cover while hiring happened. SO my crew and I where on the next flight out of Orlando to Istanbul. Now, this flight was I think one of my best and worst at the same time. We flew into Amsterdam and were connecting to Turkey but we got bumped to stand-by due to overbooking. We had like 12hrs to waste and just-woke-up from the transcontinental flight. So this dude Naz pops his jaw open and says,"Dudes... Amsterdam... Let's go to the redlight!". Now we did have a woman in my crew but she was as crazy and perved as the rest of us (which why she got on my team) and she was suddenly the alpha party leader quick stepping to grab us a cab.
So we got into a coffee shop close to or in the redlight area. I was a little behind these guys because ummm needs some real french fries first right?

Anyway, I get tot he coffee shop and order my latte and something to smoke. Not realizing that the pastry case I was looking at was the edible I ended up eating a half dozen "space cookies" in a two-cup-coffee time period. After that the rest of the trip was fuzzy. Naz said I went to the brothel but have no memory of it. What I do remember is coming back to reality somewhere in Istanbul between the hotel and airport in the limo.

Right now I have my freshly 70 Warlock in Guild.

I also have a Ranger at 60 (my original character) and a Wizard at around 43. I have one more slot to use right now so I can fill a role needed. My account is not all blinged out but I think with everyone I have played with so far, it would be easy to get another alt leveled pretty quickly.

    Welcome to the Process, SoulBlythe!

Play what you have fun playing, would be my recommendation. Don't worry about 'filling roles' or anything like that.

Sounds like you've been collecting some fun tales.

Some questions do come up, though:
    1. What's been the worst performer name you have had to announce at the Gentleman's Club?
    2. Where'd you get your start in MMOs?
    3. Anywhere you haven't gone yet, but want to? Why?
    4. What's something that us non-kitchen workers don't know, but probably should?

Look forward to seeing you in-game!

Oh, Tron, I'm that type of gamer though. I mean I have my classes or roles I like to play but, like my real life career, learning and becoming proficient at each station/slot is something I enjoy doing... Jack-of-all, Master-of-none. 30ish years in food service and 14 years of Eve Online has taught me that wearing many hats with proficiency not only bring you content but also self-fulfillment because you can step in and do what is needed.

    1. Performer names are almost always bad. Girls with car names or odd spelling/pronunciation of common words or famous names tend to be my least favorite to MC for. Names with well-done alliteration, however, make for some fun voice exercises. I mean look at Porn... names like Lexi Belle, Belladonna, Emma Hix, Cory Chase, etc...
"Let's welcome back to the stage our 2018 EDA nominee... the stunningly vivacious, Ms. Aerial Leigh!" <-- actual dancer I work with
See how nicely that just flows? Now try saying that when the dancer's name is Mursaydees Bhendz and not stumble a bit or chuckle while trying to say it.

    2. My start in MMOs started with Ultima Online which quickly moved over to Guild Wars then Matrix Online which got me started on my DJ/MC path.

    3. This is a great question and one I think about often. I'd love to hit the Basque region of Spain, The Alsace region of Franch, Portugal, Abruzzo in Italy (where 1/2 my family originated) Ireland, and Norway. I will always go back to Toronto, Vancouver, New Orleans, or my hometown on Long Island. I would travel to all these locations to eat, drink, learn, and be merry. There really is no other reason to travel unless being paid for it in my opinion.

    4. hmmm this is a tough one to really answer since I do not know much about everyone no matter how quickly I try to ingest everything. SO I'll just list a few things and take from it what you will.

    • Always remember baking is science so don't mess with the formulas or ratios too much.
    • Chefs, while being knowledgeable, do not know it all and do a lot of personal research on stuff. People believe us most of the time because of the confidence and control we exhibit but at least half the time we are full of shit because we have the ego to feed.
    • Always treat your server or bartender with respect and be polite. while it is their job to serve you, they are not in service to you but are wage slaves. No one in a kitchen is paid like these TV Chef-stars. We are some of the lowest paid professionals around.
    • Chinese food syndrome is not what everyone thinks it is. MSG is a base amino acid which our body does produce naturally as well as produced by seaweed (same with collagen and plant-based gelatins). It's a key factor in Umami which is that brings out the "earthy flavor" you tend to find in foods. It's not harmful by any means and is in the majority of prepared foods either as part of some other ingredient or added.
    • The human head weighs on average the same as a gallon of milk which is 128oz or 8 lb Lb wt.

I hope that is what you where looking for

I main a warlock and it's a blast to play. As for that fourth character slot, I would recommend rolling a cleric, getting an experience scroll and power levelling it to at least 60, so you can get account access to the Sigil of the Devoted artifact. That artifact is amazing for a warlock, or any other class that relies heavily on action points for daily powers. I currently use it on my warlock, my pally, my wizard, my ranger and, of course, my cleric.

You'll never have a problem getting a group at end game with either a cleric or a paladin under the current meta. Cradle of the Death God runs, for example, will typically have 3 clerics and 2 paladins. Almost all other high end or end game runs will need one of each, but for runs like Temple of the Nine Gods or Castle Ravenloft, many parties are still looking for 2 clerics in addition to the paladin. Of course, none of that matters if you don't like playing the classes. The cleric is a good experiment though, because, even if you don't like playing it, you get that artifact.
