and this hit me again with covers-I-didn't-see-coming: Chaka Khan covered by a finger-style guitarist and a Tesseract vocalist... And nothing else.

Jon Gomm - Ain't Nobody (instrumental solo)

Jon Gomm ft Daniel Tompkins - Ain't Nobody

I'm a fan of Tompkins already, but let me know which you liked better.

I don't know why, but Emerald reminded me strongly of Darkwater, even though they are quite different.
Darkwater - Why I Bleed (studio version).
Darkwater - Why I Bleed (live)
There is not a lot of difference there, especially surprising on those vocals. Too bad the recording setup was shit.

nice cover find Dantic.

I don't even know what to do with this song I found today... One of the youtube comments summed it better than I ever could.

Band manager: Alright guys, we need to make a new song. Any suggestions?
Person1: Death metal!
Band manager: Good, what should the lyics be about?
Person2: Let it be about the unity in nature and how we are one with our world?
Band manager: In a death metal song???
Person3: Actually let's make it a ittle bit folkish.
Band manager: A... folkish.... death metal.... song? How do we aim to do that?
Person4: Let's add a flute.
Band manager: Ok, so that covers the ins...
Person4: and a Mandola!
Band manager: Might be a little too much, but I think we can..
Person4: and a Viola!
Band manager: We're taking this a little bit too far
Person5: and my Hurdy-gurdy!
Band manager: The f**k is that???
Person1: The setting guys, the setting! Let's shoot somewhere gothic.
Person2: But cut to some forest shots to accent the folkish parts.
Band manager: Are you people serious? This is ridiculous. We can't just...
Person6: Is it too late to include a harp?
Band manager: F**k it, do whatever you want.

I love me some Eluveitie! In fact, they're one of the reasons why I bought my 7 string. :p

Anna Murphy from Cellar Darling was their original Hurdy Gurdy player. Michalina Malisz (who used to make Hurdy Gurdy covers of metal songs on youtube) took over after she left.

no folk instruments in this one. A bit more metal-core.

Spiritbox - Holy Roller
Courtney LaPlante one take live
Mike Stringer live guitar playthrough

" *The Kemper is being sent midi from Reaper to trigger the de-tune patches, which is how it's happening in real time* "
can any of your axe players translate that into English for me?
